The area around 315 Fairview Dr is a residential pocket of Biloxi, Mississippi, a Gulf Coast city of roughly 49,000 people. The streets are lined with mature oaks, the homes are a mix of mid-century ranches and updated single-family houses, and the pace is set by families walking to school, joggers on the tree-lined blocks, and the occasional boat trailer heading toward the water.

Schools and the daily run

The property is served by the Biloxi Public School District. Popps Ferry Elementary is located at 364 Nelson Rd, Biloxi, MS 39531. Biloxi Junior High and Biloxi High School complete the public school path.

Dining and local flavor

White Pillars Restaurant and Lounge on Beach Blvd is a James Beard-winning and Michelin-nominated fine dining destination — a top-tier local experience. Port City Cafe on Pass Rd is a local favorite for breakfast and lunch, just a short drive from Edgewater Estates. Zoe's is a fabulous little pastry and dessert shop nearby, and the beachfront Starbucks on Beach Blvd is great for coffee and anything on the go. Out on the causeway, Yul's Place is a very cool casual waterfront spot.

Parks and the outdoors

The Pickler pickleball courts sit across the street from the entrance to Edgewater Estates (not part of the subdivision). Free pickleball is also available within walking distance at the Donald Snyder Center, which offers racquetball, aquatics, a walking track, basketball court, and a workout center. The Biloxi Town Green hosts community events and seasonal markets. And the Gulf beaches are a 5-minute drive south on Beach Blvd, accessible year-round thanks to Biloxi's mild subtropical climate.

Getting around

US-90 runs east-west through Biloxi, connecting to Gulfport in about 15 minutes and Ocean Springs in 10. The Biloxi-Gulfport International Airport is 20 minutes west. I-10 is accessible via Route 67, roughly 15 minutes north. The Biloxi-Gulfport metro area is car-dependent, with a walk score in the low 30s for most residential neighborhoods.

A few honest words

Biloxi is not a city that tries to be something it isn't. It is a working Gulf Coast town with a military base, a fishing fleet, casinos along the waterfront, and neighborhoods where people know each other's names. The appeal is the beach access, the mild winters, and the pace that comes with a city built around the water rather than around trend.

The neighborhood reads better on foot than on a map. If you'd like to walk a slow loop with a coffee in hand, get in touch and we'll set aside an afternoon.
